Better Things Candle Company
Branding design for Better Things Candle Company, an independent, artisanal candle company based out of Iowa, USA.
I was commissioned to create a brand identity for this new company. This needed to feature a versatile logo which was suitable for use in multiple applications. Intended uses include social media, website and printed collateral.
The company’s values are growth, abundance, beauty and light in dark places. The objective of the branding design was to create a strong identity to launch the new project to the defined demographic.
I wanted to convey the hand made nature of the brand in the logo and label design. I achieved this by using a vintage, letterpress style font and hand drawing the illustration and borders. I used a neutral, organic colour scheme to help reinforce these themes. My favourite part of this branding design project was the natural formation of the tagline. We ended up utilising ‘Light in dark places’ from the brand values list as it perfectly sums up the brand and it’s ethos.
